　　普刑天离开厂里到货站仓库去工作，魏九斤抱着颗歉疚的心想说上几句安慰的话，可没想到话说得不对路，两人越说越拧，锵锵起来，刑天不想搅入厂领导的人事斗争，只想着在技术上搞创新，把厂里的生产进度提高上去，老魏觉得刑天不该老躲着自己和吉林，可刑天却觉得你们又不是我的生活中心，我没要必天天围着你们转，哪谈的上什么躲啊！话不投机。　　青格尔来到货场找刑天，想说说两个人感情上的事，可是没想到正事还没提，一说到刑天躲着魏九斤夫妇的事，刑天又火了，刑天对青格尔在厂子里安置公安人员也看不顺眼，一心只想提高生产效率的刑天根本不考虑别的东西，争了半天两人不欢而散，青格尔把到了嘴边的话又咽了回去。　　普干戚为了摆脱自己身份的污点，决定要嫁给刑天的战友、残废军人王茂林，魏九斤夫妇和青格尔都反对这门婚姻，只有刑天默默同意自己妹妹的这个决定。　　魏九斤老家的兄弟没了，母亲也得了火烧眼，魏九斤和吉林把爽朗、耿直的婆婆接来了两江市，家里来了很多凑热闹的工友，婆婆看不见，用自己的手在吉林身上摸索着，嘴里叨唠着老理，一套套的评论着吉林，弄得吉林在众人面前很是难堪，忍不住冲出屋大哭了起来，家里的气氛立即紧张了起来。吉林是个懂事的孩子，很快博得了婆婆的疼爱，她积极的陪着婆婆四处求医治疗眼睛，就在老人的眼睛也重见了光明时吉林产下了女儿。
