第1集:chip回到美国在一家牧场工作

在法国的小丑学院有这样一群热爱小丑事业的人，chip是梦想成为一名法国古典派小丑的学生，可是chip却听不懂法语，老师上课他完全只能看动作不能记录下老师所表达的含义。chip总是不能加入进同学们的生活，因为没有人会说英文，这是让chip很痛苦的事情，就连老师也对他不理不睬。chip和女友去吃饭，完全也看不懂菜单，但是在高级的餐厅，他想女友penelope求婚，这个女生很快就答应了。penelope并不是因为喜欢chip才和他结婚的，penelope只是想要去美国发展，这样他才能有更好的机会遇见自己喜欢的人，而chip也一直都知道这件事。Chip因为在学校上课挂科太多，他现在也只好回到美国。Chip来到一个牧场面试，牧场的老板叫eddie，eddie很快就录取了chip，因为现在整个牧场都没有人了，也只好录取了chip，eddie希望能用他小丑的本事吸引更多的顾客。Chip很快就来到后场准备，但是上场后才发现牧场的牛是完全不受控制的，chip对训练牛一点经验也没有，现在也只能在一边看着。次日一早，chip便接到了未婚妻penelope的电话，原来penelope又是想要找chip要四十美元去买HOB的会员。Penelope一直都瞧不起chip，所以根本不在意chip的工作。Chip骑电动车上班的时候不小心被一只蜜蜂挡住了视线，但是他双手去弄蜜蜂的时候不小心却将车骑到了路边上，如今车已经报废了。不一会儿理赔员Martha(玛莎·凯莉 饰)也过来了，martha的心特别好，还说要带chip一程。Chip想要找martha要四十美元，martha还是很喜欢和别人相处的。结果两人去买饮料的时候，自助贩卖机里根本没有chip想要的饮料，chip特别生气，因为这件事，chip还和自主贩卖机发起了脾气。Martha将chip送到了牧场，结果martha不小心按到了喇叭，chip吓坏了，直接将手中水吵martha扔了过去，martha其实也很无辜，她只是想要提醒chip他的东西忘记拿走了。Chip还是依旧在牧场当一个小丑，可是chip依旧很害怕牛，每次出来都会被牛敢到一旁。Martha第二天一早去找chip。她也是想尽快给chip汇报车子的情况。Martha再次提出要送chip一程，chip今日想要去找妈妈要四十美元，这样就可以给penelope了。回到家后，chip的妈妈就开始对martha嘘寒问暖，她一直觉得chip和martha是很登对的两个人。Chip的妈妈还给martha看小时候chip的照片，而chip只能独自躲在厕所抽烟。chip很快就带着martha离开了。当chip出来后才记得自己忘记找妈妈要钱了，所有的事情现在也只能搁置了。Chip去找到自己孪生兄弟dale要钱了，而dale给了他四十美元，虽然钱很少，但是总比没有行。Martha将chip送到了penelope住的地方。现在chip只想让penelope回到自己身边，chip觉得自己的生活真的很糟糕，没有人理解自己，甚至都不知道自己所追求的东西时什么。Chip打算在台上坐自己最后一次告别演出，可是所有观众都觉得chip的演出糟糕透了，甚至chip还不小心晕倒在地，没想到他的晕倒竟然还让大家如此高兴。
