　　葛二蛋爬树翻墙来到孟富贵家中，孟喜子拉着孟三回到家中，孟富贵的村长是日本人封的，他去了城里开会。孟喜子进屋后换衣服时被葛二蛋看到，她对他拳打脚踢，孟喜子把他当成流氓对待，孟三听到声音后去了他姐房间，他们和葛二蛋打斗起来，葛二蛋慌忙逃走，一群人很快围住了葛二蛋，他快速跑到屋顶。王喜宽知道葛二蛋进了孟喜子房中后很生气，葛二蛋在房顶上报出了名字，众人还用砖块往上扔。　　孟喜子不相信葛二蛋说的话，葛二蛋从房顶上掉下去，所幸没事，但葛二蛋一不小心将孟富贵家的房子点了。孟富贵回去后听说是葛二蛋来了，葛二蛋从房顶下来后被人暴打一顿，葛二蛋说他爹叫葛财旺，孟富贵只好和他好生相待，孟喜子对葛二蛋很不满意。　　日军在调查越狱人员使用工具的情况，麦子承认是他偷的东西，是用来砸核桃的，用完就随手扔了，日军暂且放过他。孟富贵让葛二蛋先住下来，被砸伤的人不同意，还对葛二蛋的身份产生怀疑，葛财旺曾救过孟富贵一命，他这才将女儿孟喜子许给了葛二蛋，葛二蛋有些生气的离开孟家，他有些不甘心。　　葛二蛋在摸鱼时被王喜宽和孟三扔小石块，他上岸后用棍子敲打他们，王喜宽和孟三很高兴地回去，他们见到孟喜子到后说葛二蛋没走。麦子希望能和李秀玲在一起，她猜出他想让身子来报答他，李秀玲拿出房产的一半给他，麦子不想要那些，他想要李秀玲喜欢来报答，麦子清楚李秀玲爱的是葛二蛋。　　葛二蛋睡着时他的衣服被王喜宽和孟三用火点了，他身上只剩下内裤，葛二蛋搭的棚子也着火了。屎蛋妈晚上给葛二蛋送去衣服，他急忙穿上身。孟富贵找屎蛋妈说起日军征粮之事，他答应替她家出，看到屎蛋出来后孟富贵只好回去，屎蛋妈知道他心里想的啥。八路军来到小街镇长打探情况，他们发现同志们都牺牲了。
