　　接到桃花洞发现女尸的报警电话，与先前方背洞发现的女尸很相似，车智安马上跟同事一起去案发现场查看，在那里遇见了李贤(徐仁国 饰)。李贤对两起谋杀害做了一番分析，这时姜恩赫(李天熙 饰)队长出现说明自己的身份，而李贤早却不知去向了。　　车智安追出去，李贤早已经坐上出租车走了，她只好一路追着出租车跑。车智安叫出了李贤的名字，李贤才从出租车上下来，质问她为何认识自己。车智安把李贤扣下，带回了警署去盘问。　　李贤表明，他收到了警方的邮件，以为是叫他帮忙调查，这才到了案发现场，而他的身份和他说的话都有证可查，车智安再无理由扣押李贤不放。车智安始终不相信李贤所说的话，一直缠着李贤，想知道他回国的真正目的。　　某天，李贤收到一封邮件，好奇心的驱使，他在第一时间回到了韩国，想寻找自己隐藏的记忆。李贤回到了他曾经住过的那个家，故事也从这里开始。1996年，李贤的父亲李仲民还是一名警察，聪明懂事的儿子李贤跟李俊英(都暻秀 饰)问了他同一个问题，人为什么会伤害人，又为什么不伤害人呢，李仲民无法回答，心里开始隐隐地担心。　　年幼的李贤帮父亲送公事包去警局，警局的同事意外发现李贤特别的聪明，一直缠着他算术，结果被李贤耍得在那里数火柴梗。为了找到父亲，李贤无意间闯进了李俊英的盘问室，认出他就是爸爸曾经拿回来的罪犯照片中的一个。李贤对李俊英没有害怕，而是对他产生了好奇，两人交谈得很愉快，而李仲民则很担心李贤，急忙把李贤带走。　　李俊英看穿了李仲民的恐惧，随后李仲民又在家里发现了李贤画的话，结合种种症状李仲民认为自己的儿子是精神变态儿童，把他视为怪物。
